aux. input records but no volume

okay i am sure this brand of problem is quite a worn issue with the vip's but bare with me(us novices). it seems everyone's problem is a bit different. first my sound card is intel intergrated audio card, second the player i am trying to record from is rhapsody player. okay so auxillary input works fine, records the tracks from start to finish exact time signatures, and the converts the file to lame mp3. however when i go to C:/converted music and try and test play my tracks there is no volume. i've got all volume levels both recording and playback set to there max level. aux. input is obviously recording the tracks because length of the converted track to the track played through my music player are always indentical. help me please. i've tried all i know how to do.
