Just installed dBpoweramp but cannot convert to mp3 file. Get error "CoreConverter.exe has encountered problem." The a .mp3 file is created that is 0 bytes long.
Are you using a PowerPack or Reference registered version or trial? You have to use either a registered version or trial to encode to mp3.

What file type are you trying to convert from? What is its settings (bits, bitrate, channels, frequency) and where did it come from? What mp3 settings are you using?

I tried converting from all possible file types (WAV, ACC, WMA) using all possible settings. The same error every time.

As long as you have the PowerPack or above, click the "Add" button on the bottom of the codec selection window. If you haven't already installed the DSP effects, get them here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dbpoweramp-dsp.htm. You can then use a "Channel Count" DSP to reduce the channels to mono when you convert.
