    Can't enable Secure mode

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere, but I did a search of the forum, looked at the FAQ and tried a few google searches that didn't turn up anything.

I'm having two problems that I'm fairly sure are related. I am unable to select the Secure option for ripping. The option is grayed out. Also, AccurateRip has (supposedly) tried to determine the offset a few times, but with a number of my CDs, it claims they aren't in the database and can't be used for offset detection. These aren't obscure CDs...U2 and the like.

Is there a simple explanation or solution? I've already readjusted my CD drive (it was reading in PIO mode) so it uses DMA.

    Thanks!

    Re: Can't enable Secure mode

Which dMC are you using: free, PowerPack, or Reference? You need at least the PowerPack to rip securely, as seen here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/db-versions.htm
Also, you have to configure AccurateRip to do rip securely. See here for a list of some key discs: http://www.accuraterip.com/keydiscs.htm

One thing is that one CD can have multiple pressing, which have a different offset.

Pretty sure I have the powerpack. Is there a simple way to check that? there doesn't seem to be the usual Help>About version check available.

And using CDs from the list doesn't seem to be all that helpful. All of the ones I've tried have been from the list, and they don't often note the "printing" they were from...

      Thanks for your help.

Start >> Programs >> dbpoweramp music converter >> configuration >> dbpoweramp configuration

For accuraterip keep feeding it cds until it configures.

          Re: Can't enable Secure mode

How many CDs does it take? I've tried quite a few and haven't gotten anywhere. When it actually acknowledges that it can use one as a key disc (or whatever) it asks for three more, but the next one I try also says three more, and so on...

          Thanks for your help

You have to keep feeding it CDs until 3 of the offsets match.
