    Can´t open .aac file

Maybe it´s a simple problem, but I´m working on it for days now. I´d like to translate .aac (Winamp) files to .mp3 or .flac. But dbpowramp does not "know" the .aac format. If I look for the file endings, dbpoweramp is able to read, .aac is missing.
I´ve installed the mp4 codec, the aac to mp4 codec, did put the nero files to the specific locations I´ve been told.
But there is no recognation of .aac files.

Can you help me, what´s going wrong?

    Much thanks

Are you using dMC r12? If you are, the only m4a/aac doec for r12 is in the Beta section of this forum.

      Re: Can´t open .aac file

Yes, I´m using r12. The beta codec is installed too. i´ve loaded it from: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/dBpoweramp-Codec-m4a.exe

But I can´t open .aac files. .aac is not listed in the extension menue of the converter, when I want to open an .aac file.
I installed it on an w2k and xp pc. but on both versions there is the same problem. Do I have to do something special to open an .aac file?

      Much thanks

A .aac will be in the m4a beta soon, it is not there yet.
