I believe that Spoon is saying that if you set a slow speed for ripping in dMC for most CD drives, they give you errors when they try to read. As for a reason, I don't know, probably just a low quality drive.

Many modern drives are designed to rip at full speed (what ever that may be), setting a slower speed is not optimal.

try and uninstall the software ,then re install. :blush:
