Hi, I've been a happy user of 11.5 for a long time and when r12 was released I promptly upgraded. When I realized that I wanted the all media guide, I jumped to reference.
Maybe I've jumped over my head, but r12 ref. is not working for me at this time. I'm sure it will, eventually, but perhaps I was a little impulsive.
Computer is Pentium D 830, 1GB ram, XP Pro
I rip a lot of audiobooks on CD to 9.2 wma, usually 32kbs, 32kHz, CBR mono.
I would use the voice codec, but some of my "mp3" players don't support it.
First, I have looked everywhere and I cannot find the "rip as one" option, which is one of the things that brought me to dbpowerAMP in the first place.
Second, Apparently the all media guide does not include audiobooks--or I don't know how to querry it.
Third, When I set up my rip, (and I really like the ability to set bitrate, frequency, and mono/stereo independently), it hits each track and just returns an error.
I changed the codec to MP3, and was able to sucessfully do a rip. But I couldn't find a place to set "mono" for this codec. (And no rip as one).
I would like to do more sophisticated and intelligent work with compressed audio, so I am sure the features of R12 ref will be great for me eventually. I am dissapointed that I couldn't move my "normal" work to R12. I'm usually pretty good at this stuff and I feeling a little stupid at this time.
Thanks,
Steve
P.S. Flame on. There is no issue of DRM encumbered files. I don't have any. I don't use them. I won't buy them. In my opinion it is a scam. Ten years from now millions of people will have millions of dollars worth of useless protected files.
