Impossible to install Windows Media Audio 10 codec

Hello,

I cannot install Windows Media Audio 10 codec. I receive an error message " error during execution on C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dbPoweramp\dbconfig.exe.
Can you help me if any solution exist?

If you are running r11.5 of dBpoweramp Music Converter (dMC), you may have downloaded the WMA codec from Codec Central for dMC r12 (which is newly released). Remove that codec and follow the link for the Legacy Codecs at Codec Central. Download and install the WMA r9.1 codec and you should be ok to go.

I believe you need WMP 10 for this codec to work (either for the r11.5 codec or for r12 codec with dMC r12.

If you are running dMC r12, with the dMC r12 WMA codec, and if you have WMA 10 installed, I would recommend that you uninstall and reinstall the r12 WMA 10 codec for r12 at Codec Central.

If none of these recommendations help, please let us know what version of dMC you are using.

Hi all, this is my first post to the forum! I am getting the same error message but I have WMP v11. Will the same procedure mentioned above work with v11?

You must first install dbpoweramp music converter, then install the WMA codec.

Yes. I already installed Music Converter. I then tried to convert a wma to mp3 but received message that I needed to install codec, so followed link, downloaded only codec (but for WMP v10, there was not one for v11), installed and got the error message. Is it because I am using a v10 codec on WMP v11?

v10 codec is used by wmp v11
