I'm on windows xp... and when I use audio cd input.... when it first starts up ripping an album.. a folder containing the desktop contents opens up and comes in front of everything. any clue why this is?

Windows XP being helpful, except it must not be working right, normally file explorer with the CD drive listed appears. -
Get yourself a copy of X-Setup from http://www.xteq.com/ (disclaimer: yes, I am one of its programmers). Run it, select the default UI, and then browse to System\File System\CD Autostart\Autostart Audio CD Command . Set it to:
(quote marks are important)Code:"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch:3 /device:AudioCD "%L"
If it's already set to that, then it's something else causing the problem. Try running Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.nu/ to see if it's being caused by some nasty program on your HD.[size=2][b]Neil T :)[/b]
