    Normalization

If memory is correct, earlier versions of dbPowerAmp Music Converter would normalize audio.

Well with nearly 650 MP3's I don't care to load up Sound Forge for this task, does dbPowerAMP Music Converter still do this?

    Re: Normalization

R12 currently does not have the DSP effect to do this (although it does have replaygain). R11.5 has a normalize DSP effect.

      Re: Normalization

      Example:
Song 1 at level 2 volume
Song 2 at level 10 volume
& you want them both at level 5.

How would a person approach this with 11.5v?

        Re: Normalization

Use the Normalize DSP on song 1 and the "Volume Quieten" DSP effect on song 2. As for what settings you would use for these DSP effects, you will have to determine that with experimentation.

Or, you can not use the lossy DSP effects at all and try mp3Gain, whose effects can be undone and has the same "volume levelling" effect.
