R12 now installed and STILL NOT happy

I have installed the R12 version - following spoon's repeated assurances that this would solve my various problems.

However I can now not make use of other codecs (e.g. .ape and .ogg) - Previously downlowded codecs incompatible and on the configuration page of R12 the 'install codec' button is greyed out and wont work!

Also music ripped when not online does not seem to convert filenames when going online at a later date?

Only the most myopic on defensive personalities will fail to see the frustration with poor tech and poor support.

You have to install new codecs from the dMC r12 forum post, the old codecs will NOT work. See the link below for the dMC r12 forum post where the beta downloads and codecs are.

What does this mean 'You have to install new codecs from the dMC r12 thread' ? I have tried to download and install codecs afresh. seems only to be possible via the configuration window (separate from running dmc program) in r12 - but as explained the option is greyed out (not available).

That option has been removed as times have moved on, either you are on line and get meta data, or you install the offline freedb database.

R12 has a new set of codecs you must install them from the forum page where you installed r12 (read the page), the configuration is not fully operational (hence why R12 is a beta, not a full release).

I have to say i get so sick and tired of people who have one issue and all of a sudden make claim there is poor support. and now poor tech? you have to be kidding right? you are here all of five minutes and have made this judgment?

For starters Spoon has been developing this software for the last 7 years. His tech support is second to none. This forum is full of volunteer helpers. I doubt you will get better support elsewhere, and certainly will find it hard to find such good software like dmc.

Sorry but you have got it wrong.

            This is ridiculous!
Now the lame mp3 encoder has expired. I also downloaded the fraunhofer encoder but it needs a dbpoweramp reference with no indication of where or how you might apply this.
I bought (ie registered) the dmconverter (v11.5) so I could simply rip and convert music - that is simply all I want to do.

How, where has the mp3 encoder expired?

Are you running the registered version of dmc 11.5?

He already said he's running dMC r12, ChristinaS. Beta 2 expired a few days ago, so Beta 3 was released.

Yes, I know at first he said he installed R12 but I thought he'd reverted to r11.5 when he couldn't get all the necessary codecs for R12.

I have uninstalled R12 myself for now (couldn't use Aux input I think, I forget what it was really) and out back R11.5, so I'm not familiar with the lifecycle of the R12 betas. Hmmm... I'm confused LOL
