    converts files but they beep!

I just purchased and downloaded the dbpoweramp software. Everything works, but the mp3 files have scratchy, beeping sounds throughout them during playback. Is this some security 'feature' or something. I've been converting MPEG files [with no video in them] to MP3 files; the conversion takes place, but when I listen to the MP3 file, it has random scratchy, beeping noises throughout the file. Can anyone help with this?
    Thank you.

Mp3 files do not have any security features. Try converting to wave, how does that play on your computer?

Where did these MPEG files come from? What is the frequency and channels of the file?

I've tried Wave files, and different MPEG files...they all convert, but with the scratchy beeping noises in them....it's almost as if it's a security 'feature' to keep the software from getting copied, or used w/o purchasing it.
This is really unfortunate because the software worked great when I sampled it, but now that I've purchased it, it's not working.
