Converter Won't Convert "wav" to MP3

I keep getting a message telling me that I must install "ACM" codec, as described below.

(The CODEC required to decompress 'K:\0-Coundtown\KWCC Finished Cuts\PCMwav\KWCC-01.wav' could not be opened.
ACM Codec Not Installed 'IEEE Float')

Unfortunately, the program was saving the files as PCM wav. Either way, they WILL NOT convert into mp3, or any other format!

I had installed the "raw" codec, but it didn't work. Both Blade and Lame did not work either, since wav is automaticly in it.

A re-install did nothing with all the codecs or the db PowerAmp 10.

What can I do about this??? I am kinda on a crunch to get this stuff on the air ASAP, so time is of the essence! Quality is also an issue, mp3's of 192 or above.

Do you have a program that can play this file?
If you run a test conversion of this file (same as converting to mp3 except that where you choose Mp3 as your output codec, select Test Conversion (No Write)), does the tetst conversion work?

If the answer to both of the above is "No", either the file is corrupt or (at the very least) it is NOT a standard wave PCM file (and it is also not in any other format for which you have a decoder codec in dBpowerAMP Music Converter).

If the answer to both questions is "yes", then the issue is your mp3 settings.

If the file plays but cannot be test converted, your option would be to record the file as you play it on your soundcard using Auxilary Input (the procedure for this is described in detail in the FAQ section).

    Best wishes,
    Bill

Check dMC Configuration (Start --> Programs --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration) for the version of dMC you have. The latest version is dMC r11.5. If that version doesn't work, you might want to try the latest alpha of dMC r12.

It appears that it's the original program that corrupted the audio files. Those same exact files will not go onto a CDA CD either (not recognised audio file). Any other programs did not work to get both sets of steps to work. It's a new program. The files were saved as PCM WAV, but show as ACM wav. This audio editing program is definitely going back! I have since heard other things on this same program.

The previous program works and saves the files as they are to be saved. I CAN convert those files easily. However, the new program will not save things as told (and is not a trial).

I thank you for your help in getting this problem solved. It was not with DMC 10 or it's codecs..

If it is an IEEE float wave file then R12 in the beta section will convert no problems.
