    I'm new...need some help

I converted files from audio cd (cda) to mp3 lame which is too big (the mp3),over 11.000 kb.
what should I do in order to reduce the file?
    Could you explain in details?
    Thank you in advance.

Try lowering the bitrate you have selected by dragging the slider down on the scale. I believe setting it to 192kbps will give you about 5-6MB or 5.000kb per song.

That must be a long song. Try setting it to 160kbps or 128kbps. Alternatively, you can try a VBR track with the sliders (use left-click and right-click to set the low and high slider, respectively) at something like 32kbps to 160kbps. That should give you a somewhat smaller file.

Or convert to wma 96kbps CBR for half the size of that mp3 and pretty much the same audio quality (that you can hear).
