    mp4->wma, incomplete conversion

    When I try to encode a batch of mp4 to wma, not every file is converted completely. First batch, I had one that didn't convert completely. Second patch, two. Third batch, I had five. Why?

    There's this one particular file I would like to have complete. Here's what the file itself says. its length is 3:48s
    Track Type Info
    1 audio MPEG-4 AAC LC, 228.670 secs, 95 kbps, 22050 Hz
    2 od Object Descriptors
    3 scene BIFS

    Trial 1: wma v9 release 2
    duration 885600000 -> basically, 1:28s
    bitrate 48646
    is_protected false
    is_trusted false
    has video, no image/script/video/attached images
    current bitrate 48646
    optimal bitrate 48024
    WM/Container Format 1
    WMFSDKVersion 9.00.00.3287
    WMFSDKNeede 0.0.0.0000
    IsVBR False

    Trial 2: wma v8 release 4
    duration 885600000 -> basically, 1:28s
    bitrate 32621 (yes, I also changed the kbps hoping that'll solve the problem)
    is_protected false
    is_trusted false
    has audio, no image/script/video/attached images
    current bitrate 32621
    optimal bitrate 32000
    WM/Container Format 1
    WMFSDKVersion 9.00.00.3287
    WMFSDKNeede 0.0.0.0000
    IsVBR False

    Then I looked around the board and some people suggested converting it to wav first, and then to wma, so I tried that too
    Trial 3: wma v8 release 4
    Unsigned 8 bit PCM
    1 CHannel(s)
    22050Hz

    I also ran the test conversion. It read the file without problem.
    The first time it had an error (not on this file, but on another one that also converted only partially) it said it couldn't open the codec need for the file --.wma.TEMP.wma But it doesn't show that prompt anymore.

    Unsigned 8 bit PCM
    1 CHannel(s)
    22050Hz

    WMA is 16bit, simplest way is to install R12 Alpha (beta section this forum) and the WMA codec, it will accept all bit depths.

      Spoon... I don't understand your post... my goal is to convert mp4 to wma. I don't want a wav file.

      anyways, if you guys can find a solution, that's great but for now, I solved the problem for myself by using MediaCoder instead.

      what I'm doing now is:
      aac --mediacoder--> 128kbps mp3 --dbpower--> 64kbps wma

      So I think my wma encoder is working properly...
      My aac files are readable...

      The problem seems to be, dbpower amp can't produce working mp4 files to be used to convert to wma.

        I didnt mention wave, I mentioned the next version of dbpoweramp (R12) which will not have any problems...
