What do I need to do to convert .rm files to mp3 or .wav

I have downloaded dMC, for the express intention of converting downloaded .rm (real player) files to .wav or mp3.

I have looked around the forum, but am unable to (in the short impatient time!!) get a clear idea of what else I need to download and any config changes I need to do to dMC and where these changes need to be done.

I would gladly register and pay the cost, if the .rm to .wav or .mp3 can turn out to be a straight forward process.

See here for how to convert Real files to another format: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-directshow.htm

LtDATA, thanks for the very quick response.

This is what I have done so far:

1. installed dMC
2. removed real player and installed real alternative
3. installed the DirectShow codec.
4. added .rm, .ram, .ra in the DSExt file

I then tried a conversion but halfway through I get the following error message:

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\xxxxxx\zzzzzzzz\yyyyyyyyy.m p3' could not be opened.
dMC converts .rm to .wav without a problem.

Check dMC Configuration (Start --> Programs --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration) to see if your trial has expired. If it has, you cannot encode to mp3 using dMC's built-in mp3 encoder.

It does say trial expired. But that is really strange, since I only downloaded dMC today!!!! :( What's the point of a trial that does not allow the user to try!??

Have you ever installed the dMC PowerPack before?

Nope.

I would understand the trial expiring, if I had downloaded the powerpack or the dMC before. As far as I know, I have not d/ld or used dMC before.
