    MP3 (Lame) ABR mode

    in dMC

When I select one of the "alt-preset" ABR modes the bitrate slider control still has the minimum and maximum slider thumbs. It seems to me that ABR should have only one thumb like the CBR mode(s) do.

Also, it might be nice to have a mode like RazorLame which disables the GUI options and only uses a command string entered by the user. LAME freaks would probably prefer this.

I use the Lame DLL so cannot supply a command line.

Can anyone else verify the ABR jobbie?

It should only have one thumb but there is two :(

I've been waiting for this one to be fixed for a while.

Niether the Max or the Min are it from what I tried with it some time ago...

I'm not familiar with the DLL but with the CLI, -b specifies the minimum and -B specifies the maximum. --abr xxx specifies the nominal ABR bitrate that is desired. As I told you a while back, anything ABR related in DMC produces the same output as when DMC is set to VBR if the mins and maxes are the same.

              Give this one a try:

              Save it to C:\program files\illustrate\dbpoweramp\compression

Yep the interface is correct now. Only problem I see now is that ABR or Alt-preset ABR files created with DMC are different from the ones that the Lame 3.92 CLI creates. DMC's ABR files are ABR and do achieve the targeted bitrate but for some reason they're +/- 5Kbits/s to the Lame CLI ones and when they're played in Winamp, the bitrate doesn't change at all, it stays stationary at 128. According to Winamp and DMC, it is a 134Kbits/s ABR file but according to EncSpot it is a 128Kbits/s ABR file.

                    Works!

All is working ABR and alt-preset ABR through DMC produce byte identical results compared to the Lame CLI. Good Work
