Errors whilst converting wav to m4a

Please, I need a little help. I'm trying to convert a wav file to m4a (iTunes) and keep getting this error message:

Codec Error 'Input File: C:\~dmcin.wav
Output File: C:\~dmcout.m4a
Encoder: AAC Encoder
Delete From iTunes: True
Delay: 4000
Error creating iTunes instance

I am running iTunes 4.2.0.72

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running dMC as Administrator?

Also, you might want to try the new Nero mp4/m4a encoder in Codec Central. Make sure you follow the download instructions in the help file after installation.
