    cpu usage

:headbang: I am running windows xp home, 897 mhz, 256 ram, 40 gig hdd, with dmc 9. When I use dmc convertor or audio cd input it is using 99% cpu. I have checked applications in windows task manager and dmc shows 98-100% cpu usage, and it is running very slow as well. I used to be able to run this program with no problem. I had version 8 when this problem started so I upgraded to ver. 9 and have had the same problem. Is there a way to set the cpu associated with dmc. Any help would be apprecited Thanks

If you are converting to mp3, ogg or Wma then it will take 100% of the cpu, it needs to-to get the job done.

Power Pack users have the option on the converting page (where is shows percentage done) to set the priority, 'Below Normal' will allow everything on the system to take preference.

Thanks for the reply Spoon. Up until just recently I could run Poweramp as well as other programs, now I have to exit all other programs before I run poweramp. The other pc that I have this installed on is fine I can run dmc, winmx and ICQ together and it is a smaller machine.

You would have ot give Windows versions and Processor speeds.
