Trying to find m4a (FAAC CLI) option?

I'm trying to make ringtones for my Sprint phone but I can't seem to find the m4a (FAAC CLI) option in DBPowerAMP, I need to convert a .wav file to m4a (FAAC CLI) Quality 40 (VBR) but I can't seem to do that. Can anyone provide some help?

Why not use the Nero mp4 encoder? It has replaced the FAAC encoder, as it is newer, better, and in fact worked on by many of the now-former FAAC guys.

You mean the Nero Digital Audio (AAC)? If so I don't see any option for Quality 40 (VBR), I tried choosing ABR 48 KBPS but the ringtones come out to like over 200 KB when before I used to do it they used to come out to about 110 KB or less.

Did you try Quality 45 or Quality 35? Try experimenting with the various settings until you find the equivalent. I realize this will take some time, but unfortunately it is the only option I see for the moment.

What happened to the Quality 40 (VBR) option? Why was it removed? Is there any other program out there that has that option?

The m4a/mp4 encoder is a different encoder now. Apparently there isn't a Quality 40 option.

Is there a way I can get an older version in order to get that option?

then use the aac to mp4 container changer.
