    HELP! MISSING CODEC? confused!!!

I've tried all night to get this file converted and just when i thought i had it figured out my computer pops up this msg:
"The CODEC required to compress 'XXXX' could not be opened. What do i need to do? i converted the file from MP3 to Wave so that i could edit the track and now it wont allow me to convert it back to MP3 i just get a msg and a file in my converted folder that says it exists but with 0KB and 0 length. i'm so confused :vmad:

Check to make sure that your PowerPack trial is not expired. This can be found in dMC Configuration which is at Start --> Programs --> dBPowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration

If that is not the problem, then tell us what settings you chose for the conversion and the specifications (channels, bits, frequency) of your WAV file.

silly question, but why convert from mp3 to wave? i don't think it will enhance the quality of the sound and may even degrade it.....

in order to cut the track down to the appropriate size for a project i'm using windows sound recorder to edit the track. To edit the track has to be a wave file. After i edit the track, i have to reconvert to MP3 and that's where the problem lies.
