Cannot convert .ra to .mp3 or .wav

I have downloaded and installed the .ra code but the converted file
will not play. This is true of .mp3 or .wav conversion.

Which Real codec did you install? The DirectShow one or the older one? If you installed the older one, you have to also have RealPlayer installed. If you installed the DirectShow one, did you follow the instructions I have copied below?

I must be really dense! Yes, I have downloaded Downloaded & installed
'Real Alternative' but where are your directions copied below?

add .ra .rpm .rm .ram .rmvb all on separate lines to Configure DirectShow Decoder
