Audio CD Input freezes - Help, please

Hi there!

I just downloaded the Converter and so far everything has been running smoothly. I converted a couple of wma files, no problem.

But when I wanted to test the CD Input thingy, it froze. I've tried it a couple of times, now - always the same outcome...
Obviously, I'm not exactly an expert with this stuff, but I'd sure like to know what I did wrong.

You have an internet connection? because it will try to contact accuraterip or freedb.

Well I thought it might have something to do with it. So I tried to run it with hte internet connection enabled and disabled. Neither worked.
Honestly, I'm beginning to feel extremely stupid...

Perhaps there's something else...

With Audio CD Input closed, browse to the dMC Install directory (default is C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP) and rename the AccurateRip.dll file to something else. Then try re-launching Audio CD Input. Does this help?

So I tried to rename the AccurateRip.dll and run the Audio Cd Input.
No luck.

What version of dMC are you running? Version numbers are in dMC Configuration (Start --> Programs --> dBpowerAMP Music Converter --> Configuration --> dMC Configuration). The latest version of dMC is r11.5.

Does Audio CD Input freeze with a few particular CDs, or with any CD that is used?

It's the latest version. And it freezes immediately upon starting, now. It doesn't seem to matter if there's a CD in the drive.
Though I seem to recall that it didn't freeze immediately the first time I tried, but after a couple of seconds, when I just wanted to get familiar with all the functions.

You think it might have something to do with the first CD I tried? It wasn't actually a new CD, from the mid-90s, I think...

Check the state of your cd drive, that DMA is enabled.

Yes, ChristinaS, DMA is enabled. I also tried uninstalling my drives and reinstalling them, hoping that might do the trick but to no effect.
