    Auxiliary input woes

    Hey all.

Aux input used to work, but then I got a new computer and can't make it work any more.

I choose the bitrates, etc, click record, it all looks fine, but the `seconds elapsed' counter starts immediately, rather than when it hears a noise. Then, I can't cancel.

I hit ctrl alt delete, and musicconverter.exe is using 99% of my resources!

I have winxp, with service pack 1 installed. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try the 'Test Recording' - does the VU meter go up and down with the music?

No, it just freezes and eats up all my CPU time. No window with a level meter pops up, like it used to before I got my new system.

I would try a test recording in Windows Sound Recorder - Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Entertainment

Yep, tried windows sound recorder and it worked perfectly, so the problem doesn't lie there.

Try this - Aux Input >> Options - 'Record Using' set to something else.

Tried that, but it didn't help at all... :( Any other suggestions?
