Microsoft ERROR keeps occuring with musicconverter.exe

Love the program, but unfortunately, I'm having hell of a time trying to perform a mass conversion of WAV -> MP3. Everytime I select DMC File Selector, then execute the convert, the Microsoft error message comes up that there's been a problem with musicconverter.exe.

Here are the steps I'm taking:
    1) Remote desk-topping into my media server where dBpowerAMP is installed.
    2) Start up DMC File Selector
    3) Select WAV files only for conversion
    4) Select the directories (e.g., My Music\Alternative)
    5) Uncheck Keep Path When Convert
    6) Then click Convert TO

Then 'crash, the Microsoft Error message pops up.

I performed an uninstall, and deleted the folder as well as the registry entries. Would love to get this working. Suggestions??

It could be one or more 'bad' files, try converting a small amount of files.

Has it converted anything at all?

Could it be you are running as a guest or regular user on the remote machine rather than an administrator or power user on that machine?

Do you have write access to the directory where the results of conversions are to go?

I'm definitely running as a regular user on the machine and not an administrator. Is this a limitation, or does this prevent the program from running?

I have 100% write access into those directories, and I often remote desktop into the server to manage files, rip CDs, etc.

I ended up installing dbpowerAMP on to another PC, and was able to convert the files - 21hours worth.

That's my work around. I'll be glad to post the details of the MS error message, techncial detail, or attach it as a text file.

Did you read the instructions here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=5611 ?

And no, runing as a normal user won't keep the program from running IF the procedures listed above are followed.

Nope didn't see that. I will try those changes and see if it fixes things. This is likely the issue, and this workaround will solve it.

The program worked 100% correctly/perfectly in using the Music Converter while remote desktopping and in explorer on that specific PC.

It was just using the DMC File Selector first that was causing the error.
