Help did I really lose my codecs ???

I have been using DMC happily for years, started out on Win 95 then upgraded to 2000 and everything was fine until one day I deleted some files. Now whenever I try to convert from MP3 to Wav or even Wav to Wav, I get a missing codec error message. I have reinstalled Dbpoweramp but it made no difference.

    Helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

Uninstall dBpowerAMP Music Converter, use explorer and explore to C:\Program Files\Illustrate

delete folder dBpowerAMP (if you have my player backup your music collection first), check it is not installed on a different drive as well (if you have 2 drives)

    Reboot, reinstall.

Thanks for taking to the trouble to reply and I tired all you suggested but I am still ghetting the following error when trying to convert my mp3s to wavs

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\Converted Music\Moody Blues - Dust in the wind.wav' could not be opened.

I did notice though that when I reinstalled it had remembered my previous defaults, i.e folders and type of wav format to convert to.

Does that throw any further light ?

      Thanks,
      Paul

Yes it does, Convert To >> Wave - select 'Change Format' and select a wave format.
