    compressing file

I tried to play some compressed mp3s from my website and got the "chipmunk" problem. So I used your software to convert to mp3(lame) and the file jumped up to 40mb. Is there a way to keep the file size down and what are the recommended settings?

    Re: compressing file

What is the frequency/sample rate of your mp3 files? It sounds like it is not the normal 44100Hz.

The recommended settings for LAME are normally 44100Hz and 2-channels, whether joint stereo or normal stereo. As for bitrate, this is up to personal taste but when dealing with high quality tracks, normally 160-192kbps is recommended, although some people are fine with 128kbps to save more space.

Also, it might help, but depending on your personal tastes...

You might want to use one of the presets by going under Advanced Options. Try messing around with those, "Very High" or "Alt Preset Extreme".

I must warn you, though, your file conversions will take longer than expected unless you have a top-notch processor (Intel Pentium 4 3.6 ghz or higher // AMD X-2 64 bit processors? Maybe...probably)
