Help after installing dbpoweramp :(

Ive installed the dbpoweramp programme onto my laptop but to convert files to mp3 it is telling me i need to connect to the internet which i cannot do on my laptop and my university computers wont allow me to install the programme so i can download whatever i need next is there a way around this ?

Why is it asking to connect to the internet, to install another codec?

yes i think it is to install another codec but i thought i had the whole programme once i had installed it

You have the entire program, yes, but you need codecs for file types besides mp3, WAV, and CDs. They are available for download in Codec Central. You can download the codecs on the university computers and then transfer them to either CD or a USB memory stick and then copy it to your laptop.
