    MP3 encode won't go higher than 128

I've been using this program for years and never had a problem with it. Usually I'm encoding to flac.

I'm trying to encode to 192kbs. I've always used the alt standard preset. Now I can't get any option to encode higher than 128kbs- even the studio or cd setting. It's using Lame 3.96r.

What do I need to do to repair this?
    Thanks.

When you say it won't go higher than 128kbps, do you mean the slider won't go higher? Make sure your frequency is set to 44100Hz.

The slider moves fine- but even when moved as far right as it will go the encoding is still 128 kbs.

        Did you double-check the frequency?
Your using the built-in LAME encoder, correct?

Look in the advanced options, make sure you don't have any preset selected.
