Convert multiple files to multiple formats

    Hi!

Im new the dBPowerAMP conversion tool and I wonder if there is some way to convert many songs to many different formats.

For example to process multiple wma:s and convert each of them to wav, mp3 and AAC.

Can you batch this process? I also want to make previews of each song, like 30 seconds. Is it possible with some splitting??

Re: Convert multiple files to multiple formats

With respect to your first question, the multi-encoder utility codec, from the Beta section of the Forum (here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=8314), will encode to 2 or more formats and/or settings at once. Of course, to encode to different codecs (say FLAC, mp3 and AAC) you will need to also have the codecs installed for encoding to each format. The 2 chief limitations of the multi-encoder utility codec are that it does not work with the generic CLI codec and it can be tricky getting different sets of files to different locations. This codec also does not have a Help file. Aside from these limitations, the codec is stable and useful.

The multi-encoder utility codec can be used from the file selector interface allowing you to use it for batch conversions for mutliple folders and subfolders, or you can use it from dMC Audio CD Input (for ripping), the dMC interface or on right-click from Windows Explorer (for conversion of existing audio files). I believe you can also select the multi-encoder codec for initial recording using dMC Auxilary Input but I would not recommend this and I would be surprised if it were stable (better to record to wav in dMC Auxilary Input and then ise the multi-encoder codec on the wav files in dMC).

If you have the Power Pack (either on an active trial basis or as registered dMC user), you can make previews of each song. I believe the loop DSP effect will allow you to make the preview samples as would the Trim DSP effect.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
