Problems whilst converting to Musepack and Ogg Vorbis aoTuV

    Hi All,
I am probably bringing up a problem that has been discussed many times in the forums without any successful solution. Hope to get a solution to this.

I am having problems converting to musepack and Ogg Vorbis aoTuV b4 SSE2 files. I have tried ripping with different audio cds as well as different input file formats like .wma, .wav etc to only get the same error messages as below.

The CODEC required to compress 'G:\My Documents\My Music\'Song name.mpc' could not be opened.
Unable to run encoder 'C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\Musepack mpc (CLI)\mppenc.exe'

    and for Ogg Vorbis aoTuV:
The CODEC required to compress 'G:\My Documents\My Music\'Song name.ogg' could not be opened.
Unable to run encoder 'C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dbPowerAmp\compression\Ogg Vorbis aoTuV b4 SSE2\oggenc2.exe'

I am however able to convert audio to mp3 (Lame), wma, ogg vorbis without any problems.

A sample set of options used for each codec (Musepack and Ogg vorbis aoTuV) is given below:

    For musepack:
Encoding : Standard (Doesnt work with other options either)

    For Ogg Vorbis aoTuV:
Quality: 4, Freq: 44.1 kHz, Channels: [source] - other quality settings dont work either.

Input files are usually audio cds or wma files with 192 kBps encoding.

I am running WinXP home, with SP2 and DixectX 9.0c. I am using dBPowerAmp R11.5. I have used the latest codecs downloaded from the dBPowerAmp website. Computer restarts dont help either. Encoding for audio cds is done using the dMC Audio CD input. I also do not have Windows Media Player running while doing the conversions.

Hope this info helps in giving a solution.

    Thanks.

Is 'C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dbPowerAmp\' where dMC is installed to? If not, you'll need to click the "Locate Encoder" button and browse to the correct location for the .exe.

Thanks. I had installed dBPowerAmp to my D drive but did not notice that the address for the codec was actually pointing to the C drive! Both codecs work fine now. Out of curiosity, does dBpowerAmp always assume the codec is at C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Compression\.. ?

      thanks for solving this problem.

When a CLI codec is first used it pops up a locate window.

And the Options file included with the CLI codecs has the default location (C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\etc.) in the file.
