    Wave conversion problem

Problem: Wave files not completely converted (to wav, then to mp3).
    Original Stats:
    wav file size: 151kb,
    length:2:33
    Orig size: 3315kb
    freq: 11025
    chan: 1
    Bit 16

Input to Converter program produces a partial wav file:
    length: 30 seconds (varies from 1 % to 16/17 %).
    freq: 44100
    chan: 2
    Bit 16

I deleted everything under the dBPower folder except the
dBShell.dll and dMCShell.dll. Then did a unzip from a backup
    file and overwrote everything.
    This cured the problem.

Only change to my sys was updating the DirectX V9.0c then i
    started seeing this problem.

DirectX V9.0c has had several file updates but the version number didnt change. Minor changes but i dont know which files got changed.

Anyway, a re-install (or restore) seems to have fixed it.

      LtData,

I have put all the dBP programs under 1 (top level) folder, it contains
all programs (player, converter, Aux, CDWriter, etc). It just seems
easier to keep related Apps togeather in 1 spot.

Same with the Zip file, it contains all dB products. So when something
goes wrong, for whatever reason, I just delete all the files (except the
shells of course) and unzip the backup file into the same place.
Works well. Just need to remember that when something is updated,
      re-create the zip file.

Hmm.... these programs get installed in the registry, if that gets messed up you have to do an actual reinstallation (maybe after an uninstall). Just copying files over the bad ones won't help.

Only if the registry entries get messed up. If only the files themselves are damaged, you should be fine.
