    What am I doing wrong?!!!!

I have been trying to convert a AAC file to MP3 for over an hour with no luck. I went to the FAQ, but nothing worked. I must be doing something incorrectly. I downloaded the correct codecs. When I try to convert the file I get a message saying that I don't have the codecs installed, and to go to codec central to get it. I thought that maybe I did something wrong and that they didn't install , but when I try to install them I get a message saying that the codecs are already installed.

So what am I doing wrong? Are they supposed to be in a certain folder or directory within music converter? If so which one? This is driving me crazy!

Also, when I try to convert a video file to mp3 it will convert, but the playback is fast. What do I need to adjust to fix this problem as well?

The codec is the major problem, so please answer that one first. I just want to convert one file. It shouldn't be this hard.

    Help!!!!!!!

The mp3 file sounds fast most likely because the sample rate or frequency on the video file is not 44.1KHz and therefore sounds sped up when the file is not resampled during conversion.

Also, do you have either an unexpired trial of dMC or a registered version? You have to have one of those two in order to convert to mp3.
