MP3 Conversion- Missing a few seconds at end

I've noticed a problem when converting some songs to MP3. The final 1-2 seconds seem to be missing, just cuts-off the song.

I've been recording some LP's in wave format, then converting the wave to FLAC and MP3's. The FLAC conversion is fine, but not the MP3's. I've gone back and tried to convert the FLAC to MP3, but again, the same problem.

Has anyone experienced this. I've been converting to the LAME extreme preset.

    Thanks.

Make sure no DSP effects are running.

I double checked, there are no DSP effects running during conversion.

Not sure why I'm getting this problem.

I tried using another converting program, it didn't cutoff the song. Don't want to use that program, as it doesn't convert to Lame -extreme.

I again tried dbamp, but changed the converter settings to Lame -standard, still getting the same results.

Were you recording to standard PCM wave (16 bit, 44.1 khz, 2 channel)?

Try flac to wave, is that ok, then wave to mp3, is that ok?

Yes, it was recorded in that format. Then converted to Flac and then to MP3.

I did try converting the FLAC to WAV. The WAV file converted with no missing time. Then took the WAV file and converted to MP3, but the same problem occurs, the last 1-2 seconds is missing.

Yes, tried using both extreme and standard presets.

This is how I've been doing the LP conversions.

                  1. Turntable/Amp into mini-disc recorder. Mini-disc connected to computer via digital connection.

                  2. Record mini-disc signal with Creative Mediasource software to WAV format. It has automatic pop/hiss removal during recording.

                  3. Use Audacity to split WAV tracks.

                  4. Use DBpoweramp Convert to convert WAV file to FLAC

                  5. Use Convert to convert WAV file to MP3

As I have mentioned, the WAV and FLAC files are fine, but for some reason, the conversion to MP3, the ends of the track get cut-off.

I should mention that this does not happen to all tracks, of the last 100 or so I've recorded, 40% have been cut-off.

Try using dbpoweramp to convert mp3 >> wav, is the wave file cut off?

Well, its not a problem with the converting program, it seems to be a problem with iTunes.

As I can take the converted files to Media Monkey or Windows Media, or even an earlier version of iTunes and the files play fine.
