    Aux input hard crash, win98

I'm getting intermittent hard crashes when recording via the Aux input-

"caps lock" button no longer makes the light on the keyboard toggle, hitting reset starts a reboot that fails w/"Windows Protection Error", have to cycle power to get my system back.

It can happen after just a few minutes of recording, or it can record for an hour before doing this. I thought it might be recording to Monkey that did it, so I started just recording to plain WAV files, and it crashes just as often.

Now I'm pretty sure it isn't dBpowerAMP causing it, I think it's tickling something else. Any ideas on tracking this down?

Only two things are happening, it is writing to the disk and reading from the sound card, I suspect it could be the drivers for either the sound card or hard disk.
