.ac3 Problem

I have installed Direct Show Decoder and ac3 filter from the site and added the .ac3 in notepad but .ac3 to wav conversion goes on and on with no progress...time just keeps going. I've checked configuration and .ac3 shows installed. Anybody know why not working?

can you play the ac3 file in WMP (or any directshow player of your choice)?

It does not play in WMP...and does on another computer of mine that dbpower also works on. Something seems to be conflicting with the codec/filter i am guessing. Any known issues with Nero 7 or other programs...or different codec other than directshow decoder and ac3filter?

I am able to convert from mp3 to wav and wav to mp3 fine. Cannot get ac3 to convert to wav or mp3...just stops progress immediately and time keeps running...have to force program to close.
