    protected WMA conversion questions

    Hello! Here's the story:

    I copied my entire cd collection to my hard drive as WMA files, and due to financial challenges am no longer in possession of the cd's. (Needless to say I thought I had them saved on my computer anyways.) :blush:

    Well, my computer crashed and I had to reformat before I could make sure I backed up my lisences. Not all of them were backed up, or they are corrupted, not sure which. I can now only access about half my collection. I am quite desperate for my music. :cry:

    Here's the question:
    Is there ANY ANY ANY even farfetched way that dbpowerAMP can convert protected WMA files to ordinary MP3's? If not and you have any idea how to do this some other way, I would be grateful to hear it! I promise I will not tell :teufel8: Windows (who, despite my error, I resent tremendously for "pirating" my tunes in the name of "security!") Any other system info. etc. I should provide for clarification, let me know!

    Thanks!
    Nicole

    Re: protected WMA conversion questions

    Unfortunately unless you can play a protected wma you will not be able to convert them.

      For the future remember to configure WMP to not add copy protection to anything it saves as wma for you from a cd. In some installations this may be the unfortunate default setting, but it can be changed if you think of it beforehand.
