accurip issues

i want to use the cd converter on a computer that is not ever conncte to the internet. i installed it with accurip off, but every time i start the prog, change the cd in the cd drive, or (for some reason i dont understand) turn on a usb harddrive, i get an error message/beep after it tries to connect to accurip. i have not configured it and it is set to off...... what do i do to make this annoyingness go away?
