I am trying to convert mlp files (Meridian Lossless Processing) into wav or flac files. Is there a codec in dbpoweramp convertor that will do this? Will this be available soon?

DVD-A uses either LPCM or a lossless encoding called MLP (Meridian Lossless Packing), and supports up to 24 bit and 192 KHz audio. Due to the strong encryption of DVD-Audio, there is no way at this time to decrypt DVD-A disks. One possibility for extracting the audio would be to attach the S/PDIF out of your DVD-A player to the S/PDIF in of your soundcard. Due to the strong encryption of the DVD-A format and the extremely high cost of MLP decoder licenses, there may never be an ideal solution for ripping DVD-A. -

Well, I actually think this is bad advice. You will not be able to record from the DVD-A via the optical connection, due to the fact that all DVD-A players (by law) have to disable any digital outputs upon being played. DVD-A's will only play via analog connections (at least this is how both my soundcard and DVD player documentation puts it).Originally posted by ChristinaSComment

Right, so it probably won't work.
Perhpas dMC Auxiliary Input - unless again its usage gets blocked by that effect of disabling other outputs. Somebody has to try it, all I can say.Comment
