    wma9.5 codec doesn't work :-(

Hi there - love your programme (using to convert my apple stuff to play on my pocket pc) and have converted to .mp3 and .wav both fine (but .wav too big - 40mb each track!!!

Presume .wma would be good for me (dunno why - guess bill has strong brand) but downloaded the recent wma codec (March 15 2006) and i get the following problem - (this happens when converting from anything to .wma).

the codec to compress xxxx.wma could not be opened

I reinstalled the codec download but no joy... any answers? maybe i should just bin .wma and live with .mp3 - in which case can anybody tell me the best size/quality trade off for a pocket pc... presume about 3mb for a 5 min track??

    thanks all

I assume you mean wma9.1 and that you have Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10 installed on your machine as well.

What version of dMC are you using? Have you confirmed that the codec is installed properly by running the dMC configuration program and checking the installed encoders?

Can you also supply details of the file(s) you are converting and details of the wma settings you selected?

I currently use wma 9.1 to create wma audio files for my PocketPC due to the fact that the files themselves sound okay but they are smaller than if I used mp3 instead. Most of mine are 64 kbit/s are created using the 2 pass option and therefore they average at about 2-3 MB in size.
