    OGG > Apple Lossless > M4A

Hi, all. I'm just wondering, with the conversion mentioned in the title, how much wuality do you think I'll lose (if any, but I imagine there will be some consdiering OGG is lossy).

I had originally changed some OGG encoded albums into Apple Lossless so that I could put them on my iPod without losing any quality (iPod doesn't support OGG :( ). However, they take up alot of space on my hard drive and on the iPod it self and I'm trying to find a smaller alternative.

    Thanks.

Why not just skip the apple lossles step? you can't improve on the lossiness you already have in the ogg file. Convert to m4a (not the lossles type) and be done. Keep a bitrate simolar to what your ogg is. You may lose a tad more quality (probably unnoticeable). Or if you can re-rip the originals, rip directly to m4a (not lossless) at some reasonable bitrate.
