Is there a codec to convert .act files to mp3

I have recently acquired a new mini digital voice recorder which saves the files in .act format. I would like to convert the files to mp3/wav or similar.

Is there any codec to do this? I had a quick look in codec central but couldn't see anything there and I was wondering if .act is a variation of some other codec which is provided.

Wasn't there any software included with your device? That may provide means to convert the files to wav or other format.

How are you exporting these files to your pc?

The files are copied across via the USB connection. Yes there was a cd with the device but I can't find it at the moment to check what is on there.

Right, most likely that's your necessary conversion program.

Check with the manufacturer's support.
