The way I understand it a Broadcast Wave file (BWF) can contain either compressed mpeg2 data or uncompressed PCM data, inside of a .wav file.Comment

In that instance a BWF file is just on that has the BWF tag, the forth comming R12 will be able to read / write those ID Tags.Comment
