    Codec

Why is it when I try to rip a CD or reencode a MP3 I made awhile I get that the Codec need to compress can not be opened?

Converting to mp3 (Lame)? - try reinstalling dMC, also change the settings on the mp3.

      Already

I already uninstalled and reinstalled it as well as trying to fiddle with the options. And it is to MP3 (Lame).

Out of interest, try converting to Wave, does that work?

there is an older version of Lame you can install, it should work.

              Installed

I installed that codec you suggested Spoon, but all I get now is it creating a new file with no information in it. I'm confused  and feel like I'm beating my head against the wall :headbang: . Now the audio player keeps freezeing up too.

Just use OGG Vorbis then :D

                It's a better codec IMHO.

Worst comes to worst, install the mp3 Blade codec from Codec central.
