I convert from MP3 to Wav but when the CD is burned it comes up as CDA not WAVS, does any one know why or what I am doing wrong. I tried two different buring programs so it is not the burner doing it. Thank you so much, Renee

Re: converting to wav
An audio cd will show the tracks as .cda (those are only pointers to the physical address on the cd of the audio tracks themselves). The format of the data going into those audio tracks is based on uncompressed PCM wav incidentally, but it's not under your control.
When you burn an audio cd, the burner program performs the necessary conversions and the result is the audio cd.
If you wanted to have a cd of wav files, then you need to make a data cd - and convert mp3 to wav prior to burning these data files to the cd. That cd cannot be played in a regular cd player, it can only be used in a computer's cd drive and played by programs like Windows Media PLayer or others - the cd then is like any folder of files stored on your pc. -

Re: converting to wav
The answer to your question, as I understand it, is yes.
Easiest way to really check though, is just toss it into your CD player or car CD player, and see what happens. If it still doesn't work then write back, folks here love to help.

Re: converting to wav
An audio CD has the .cda files that tell players where to look on the CD for that particular track. See here for more information: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/spoons-aud...de-formats.htmComment

Actually why don't you just pop any other music cd (say, a bought one) in your computer's cd drive and use Windows explorer to go look at that cd (stop and close the palyer if it kicks in first). You will see a list of .cda files, one for each track of that cd.
It's the same for a audio cd you burn using a cd burner program.Comment
