m4a, m4b to rm wont convert

I have some .m4a, .m4b "not protected" and tried to convert to .rm and music converter says

MusicConverter.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

AppName: musicconverter.exe
AppVer: 6.4.0.1
ModName: real audio.dll
ModVer: 4.0.0.11 Offset: 00016293

all my codecs are updated.

If I convert to .mp3, .wma etc then convert to .rm conversion works but this is an extra step to take if you have to convert more than one file. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug in the conversion to .rm from .m4a, .m4b.

The real encoder is very picky about its input and has known problems with WinXP SP2. What is the settings of your .m4a/.m4b files, such as channels, frequency, and bitrate? You can get this from right-clicking on the file and going to "Edit Tag" or "Properties", clicking the "Summary" tab and then clicking "Advanced".

This is what I found. If I have to go the extra step I will it just would be mush simpler if I didn't have to.

channels = 2
frequency = 32000
bitrate = 27Kbps

Aha, it looks like the problem is the frequency, which the Real Encoder probably wants to be at 44.1KHz. Try encoding your files to two WAVs: both 16-bit, both two channels, but one at 44100Hz and one at 32000Hz and see if the 32000Hz one crashes dMC or not.

Both converted to wav and both converted from wav to ra but will not go from m4b to ra. Ill just do the extra step.
