    Re: MP3 to MP4 ????

    You need to download and install the mp4/m4a (aac and Apple Lossless) codec from Codec Centeral here:

    This codec will allow you to create mp4 files with an m4a file extension.

    Bill

        I assume that this means it will also not convert to a file with the extension .m4a (which is the file extension that the mp4/m4a codec uses for mp4 files).

        Which mp4 codec did you install? If you were trying to use other than the first codec (using FAAC) did you have the appropriate matching software? (Last I knew the Nero mp4 codec did not work with Nero 7, as I recall).

        Try checking your dMC Configuration (Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP Music Converter>Configuration>dBpowerAMP Music Converter Configuration) to make sure that m4a or mp4 is listed among your installed encoder (or write) codecs.

        Assuming the codec is installed, can you tell us the bit setting, frequency, number of channels and bit-rate for your mp3 file and the settings you are using for the mp4/m4a file you are trying to create? Is this a problem with one file or with many? Can you convert from .mp3 to wave (or other formats) OK?

        And when you say it will not convert, can you tell us what does happen when you attempt the conversion?

        Try test converting an mp3 file that will not convert to .m4a (this is like a regular conversion except that where you select the output format-such as m4a-select "Test Conversion"). A test conversion will not produce an output file. It will either very quickly show (in the window that displays the progress of the conversion) a successful test conversion or it will show an error.

        Best wishes,
        Bill

          @xoas

          got it to work...the FAAC.exe pointer was wrong...=P

          i got another question now....mp3s have the option to have "title" and "artists" so that it shows on the media player...mp4s don't seem to have them...i'm confused...=T
