    One website claims that the USB can: MP3/WMA/AAC/MP4/FLAC Playback via USB. FLAC being best case scenario, correct?

      Definitely not with CD. There is no point given the file sizes would limit you to about the same number of tracks as straight CD Audio.

        I would check the manual for the specific model of Alpine radio you have. I am sure you can find this on the Alpine website.
