Restarted CD rips, but need new drive

I did this ages ago and all went well, but my PC died and I lost everything.
I did a couple of rips today, but mu old Samsung isn't on accurateRip, its a SH-S223C. The rips don't sound very good either, sort of tinny sounding. I used to have a soundcard, would that make a difference in CD rips?
Actually what does affect the sound of CD rips ? Does the DAC affect it at all?
Plus my Samsung door keeps sticking too and sometime won't open.
At least I still have dBpoweramp !

The drive itself has no impact on the sound quality because the ripping process is a digital readout of data (sound card is not involved). An accurate rip is bitperfect, no matter which CD drive has been the source. The difference between different drive concerns the way they can handle problematic CDs (scratched ones, different substrates) and CR2 error pointers to detect errors.
