rating in cd ripper

hi,

having done my first ripps, everything seems to be fine, from naming to normalization tag, and accurate rip, thanks to spoon :-) but one thing is baffling me: there's an option to rate tracks in the cd ripper. when i import those ripped tracks into apples music app, they are displayed unrated.

so i wonder, what's the effect of rating a track in cd ripper? does that help in any way, is that rating written to some tag, do i have to do something special to make apple's music app understand that information, or does that rating make sense with any other software or equipment?

Many programs have an internal database for rating tracks and do not use the value in the tags.
