New User - Compilation CDs - Naming Artist For Each Song

    Hi,

New to dBpoweramp, just ripped several CDs to MP3 (for the car) and the resut was excellent and quick.

I have a few compilation CDs and the artist is only being listed in the 'title' column of the app.

Is it possible to seperate the information and seperate the information, so that it reads 'track number - Song' and then the artist in the artist column? The CD is European (Serbia) so no metadata available.

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, it is possible. You have to edit your naming string. I.e. like that:

    [IFVALUE]album artist,[tags]album artist, - [],[IFCOMP]Compilations[][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[IFMULTI][disc]-[][track] [title]

      Hi,

Just tried the above naming string and the artist is not seperated.

      This is the app dashboard:

      - Title: 01 Singer - Name of Song
      - Artist: Blank
      - Album Artist - Blank
      - Album: Album name CD1
      - Compilation - ticked.

When I open the file in Explorer I have:
      - Name: 2-01 01 Singer - Name of Song
      - Title: 01 Singer - name of Song
      - Contributing Artist: Blank
      - Album: Album Name CD1 (correct)
      - Album Artist: Blank

Essentially I need the song to stay where is is and the Singer to be added to Album Artist.

Any help will be gratefully received. :-)

Album artist comes from the ID Tags, if you are writing to FLAC then there is no standard for Album artist, and as such Windows explorer would not read any.

        See:

Windows 10 comes with the ability to read ID Tags for a bunch of standard codecs such as: mp3, wave, flac, m4a, opus, ogg The issue can be, that Microsoft do not support the full range of ID Tags that dBpoweramp does, such as Wave ID3 chunk, or the full subset of id3v2.4 tags. Even worse for opus and ogg Microsoft do not read

This naming string worked for me for more than 3.400 CDs... Check your tags!
